Lyon Park neighborhood in North Arlington is bounded by 10th Street North, Arlington Boulevard, and Irving Street. It is one of Arlington’s urban villages in a convenient location that affords easy access to not only a Metro Rail station – Clarendon – but also all the daily amenities needed – shopping, dining, entertainment.

The Park, along with the Community House located at 414 N Fillmore Street, is host to numerous community-oriented events each year. These events provide entertainment and contribute to the neighborhood’s distinct, cohesive feel.
Henry Clay Park is owned and maintained by the County. It is located within Lyon Park between North Garfield and North Highland Streets, on North 7th Street. Henry Clay Park has an outdoor basketball court, a playground, and a gazebo.
The third park within the Lyon Park neighborhood is Fillmore Park. Fillmore is also a County park, and it is located at 33 N. Fillmore Street. This park has a youth baseball field, a playground, and picnic tables.

Community Organized Events in Lyon Park
Lyon Park community events are not only open to members, but also to neighbors. There are a wide variety of activities each year, affording entertainment, as well as volunteer opportunities. A few examples include the Community Yard Sale held each September, and the daytime Parade of Costumes in October around Halloween. The costume parade begins at the Park, where there is also a pumpkin-carving contest. After dark on Halloween, there is a bonfire with story-telling and refreshments, and these events are free and open to the public.
In November, the community hosts a Craft and Bake Fair, then in December a Children’s Holiday Party, which includes a visit by Santa and a caroling sing-along. Each January, there is a Pancake Breakfast, and in March, they host a Chili Cookoff.
The longest-running Lyon Park event is the Spring Fair in May. It has featured games, pony rides, baked goods, plant sales, lunch, and more every year since 1924.
