Home to just under three thousand residents, Yorktown is located north of Lee Highway, south of Rock Spring Road and Little Falls Road, east of Columbus Street and Old Dominion Drive, and west of Marymount University and North Jefferson Street. 

Nearby you’ll find the neighborhoods of Williamsburg, Rock Spring, and Bellevue Forest.

Also, via Lee Highway, the Metrobus 3Y travels to the Rosslyn and East Falls Church Metro stations, as well as downtown D.C.

Two popular nearby shopping centers are the strip mall Garden City Shopping Center on Lee Highway and the Lee Harrison Shopping Center at the intersection of Lee Highway and North Harrison Street. Businesses you’ll find at these two spots and in other places in the Yorktown neighborhood include Safeway, a new Harris-Teeter grocery store, Bangla Bazar, Preston’s Pharmacy, Sam Torrey Shoe Service, and Wild Birds Unlimited.

Dining in Yorktown

Most of the restaurants easily accessible by Yorktown residents are located in the Garden City or Lee Harrison Shopping Centers along Lee Highway. These dining destinations include a wide variety of cuisine options from across the globe, so whether you crave ethnic or standard American fare, you can easily satisfy your hunger. Parks in Yorktown – Arlington VA

Yorktown is an excellent home for lovers of the great outdoors. There are three picturesque parks found in this charming neighborhood - Rock Spring, Chestnut Hills, and Greenbrier.

Rock Spring Park is one of the area’s best-kept secrets. It is located at the north end of George Mason Boulevard and features gorgeous gardens and walking trails.

Located on North Harrison Street, Chestnut Hills Park is family-oriented and especially suited for small children with its new playground.

Adjacent to Yorktown High School, Greenbrier Park hosts the school’s indoor public swimming pool and athletic fields. Arlington children come from near and far to participate in the youth sports leagues at Greenbrier Park.

Yorktown Entertainment and Events

Each year the Yorktown Civic Association hosts multiple community events intended to engage and entertain residents and neighbors alike. A prime example of these exciting festivities is the Annual Neighborhood Day. Held at Chestnut Hills Park, Neighborhood Day usually features a fire truck from The Arlington County Fire Department, clowns, food, balloons, and other treats for the young and the young-at-heart.
